How can I lock a particular cell rather than a full worksheet?

Thanks for the question.
To lock a particular cell you would need to unlock the whole sheet and then go into the cell you want to lock and just lock that cell. So if you press Ctrl A that will highlight the whole sheet, go into Format Cells across to the Protection tab, and take the lock off the sheet, uncheck the locked box. Then highlight the cell you want to lock and go into Format>Cells>Protection and only lock that cell. Once this is done you can Portect the Sheet, Tools>Protection>Protect Sheet.
And that should work!
