Sorting columns alphabetically
Hi there,
I am looking to sort my columns alphabetically, but taking into account two different columns. I would like to sort by column A, THEN by column B.
Does that make sense?
Thanks
Emily
RE: Sorting columns alphabetically
Hi Emily
I would suggest the following:
- Click in a cell in the column you want to sort by first.
- Go to Data - Sort on the menu bar. This allows you to do multiple sorts - the headings at the tops of your columns should be visible in the dropdown sections of the dialogue box on your screen, otherwise Column A, Column B etc will appear.
- Select the first column you wish to sort by, then the second and click OK.
Hope this solves your problem.
Amanda
