Navigation

Hello all

I have very recently started to use Dreamweaver 2004 mx and although a superb program i have run into a problem allready..when i create a left navigation bar it moves up and down when i view it when clicking on another link in the same nav table,(i think its to do with percent or pixels?)..and when i add images to the index and other pages it moves up and down then also when the different links are clicked..im sorry to ask such a newbie question but it is becoming frustrating for me and i cant seem to keep the nav bar in one place when images and text are inserted.Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?

Many thnx

Simon B

RE: navigation

Hi Simon,

I'm not sure exactly what your problem is? Can you state what is happening now and what you intend to happen?

When you say 'left navigation bar', do you mean a frame? Or have you created an HTML table with a long column on the left?

What is moving up and down when you add images? The navigation bar?

Do you have your web site live yet? If so, pasting the URL as a reply post will mean I will be able to identify the problem a lot more quickly.

Please elaborate a bit so I can respond accordingly. Thanks.

Regards, Rich

Dreamweaver tip:

JumpMenu in new window

When inserting a jumpmenu to a page, the only option available for 'open in' is usually 'main window'. There would be other options available if the page was a frameset.

To change the jumpmenu to open in a new window, change the target parameter of the selectbox in your code to 'window.open()'.

eg.

<select name="menu1" onChange="MM_jumpMenu('window.open()',this,0)">
