Number of digits in a cell
When I enter into a cell a 15 digit number (for example: 123456789123456) , it is displayed correctly. When I try to enter a 16 or more digit number, the 16th and any other digit after is being converted into zero (for example: 1234567891234567 --> is being displayed as 1234567891234560).
Could you help on this?
RE: number of digits in a cell
Hi Monika
When you type a number that contains more than 15 digits in a cell, Microsoft Excel changes any digits past the fifteenth place to zeroes. Excel will only store 15 significant digits in a number.
You can format the cell as text, then the cell can then display up to 1,024 characters. However if you do this then the number cannot be included in a formula.
