How do I link Reuters 3000 to a spreadsheet to obtain live rates?

RE: Excel

Hi Himani

Thank you for your question.

I'm not familiar with Reuters 3000, but if this is a web based service, you should be able to use Data - Import External Data - New Web Query then navigate to the web page and select the table showing the rates. Then click OK. At the bottom of the dialogue box showing on your screen, you should see a Properties button where you can adjust the Refresh control and say if you want the data to be replaced when it is refreshed etc. Then click OK, select where the data is to start from in your spreadsheet and click OK.

Excel tip:

New to Excel 2010 - Sparklines!

Excel 2010 includes a new feature called Sparklines which are tiny charts that fit into a single cell and plot data in cells from the worksheet. There are a host of formatting and styles that can be applied to them and they are really quite interesting.

>insert
>sparklines
>Choose any style you want

You will be asked for the range and it will automatically select the cell your in to insert the sparklines.
