Macro

How do you record and run a Macro?

RE: Macro

Select Tools, Macro and then Record New Macro and give your macro a name in the first field of the dialog box which appears. Once you click OK, your every action is being recorded as as macro. Once you've carried out the task, click the stop (square) button on the floating macro toolbar and the macro will stop recording. To run your macro again, select Tools, Macro and then Macros, select the name of your macro and hit run.

Excel tip:

Adding date and time

Here are two quick ways to add the date and time to your spreadsheet:

1) Type =NOW(), which displays both date and time in the same cell
or
2) Hold Ctrl and type the colon (:) into one cell for the date and the semi-colon(;)into another for the time.

Note that =NOW() updates to the current date/time whenever the spreadsheet recalculates.
