Protecting Worksheets

Please can you advise how you protect a worksheet and also how to protect certain cells within a worksheet so no one else who is using the spreadsheet can change cells that contain formula? Many thanks.

RE: Protecting Worksheets

Cells are protected with a two stage process.

All cells are locked by default

By clicking on format > cells, then navigating to the PROTECTION Tab, you will see a tick box saying locked.
You would need to unlock the cells you do not want to protect.

Protection only works once you switch the functionality on.
To do this, click on TOOLS > PROTECTION > PROTECT SHEET. Same to unprotect

Excel tip:

Highlighting a data range

Attempting to use a mouse to highlight a large range of cells with data in Excel can make the mouse to have a life of it's own!

Use keyboard strokes instead.

Step 1. Place the cusor in the cell where the highlighting should begin.

Step 2. Select keystroke, CTRL+SHIFT+END

This will take the cursor to the furthermost bottom corner of the data range found in that worksheet. And highlight that range of cells at the same time
