How do I link a field in Access to a cell in Excel? I want my access fields to link to totals in excel pages so that they update whenever I open the database, is that possible?

1. You cannot create a link to an Access database from within Excel.
2. You cannot link Excel data to an existing table in the database.
When you create a link, Access creates a new table. The table shows the data in the source worksheet or named range, but it doesn't actually store the data in the database.
3. Any change that you make to the data in Excel will be automatically reflected in the linked table.

I think perhaps Lucy meant the other way - such that if you have an Access database which feeds information into a spreadsheet, can you have it set such that when you update the database, it can refresh the spreadsheet?
Is this somethign that can be done by outputting the table/query to an excel spreadsheet, and overwriting the pre-existing spreadsheet each time or is there another way?
If it can be done by macro, then if you want it such that it'll happen when you open the database, name the macro AutoExec and it'll run it whenever you open your database.
