Month Order in charts and line diagrams
Our FY starts in August and I have used the date file that Jens provided. I cannot seem to sort the data by True month.
RE: Month Order in charts and line diagrams
Hi Shilpi,
Thank you for the forum question.
I need a little bit more information.
Do you want a visual to have a date hierarchy where you have the year and then the months on the next level starting from August, September, October............. and ends with July.
Within each year the months are from August to July.
Kind regards

RE: Month Order in charts and line diagrams
The chart is by month but there is a Financial year filter. I want the chart to update with the chosen financial year.
RE: Month Order in charts and line diagrams
Hi Shilpi,
I have just in the data model we used on the course created a chart. I have added calendar year and calendar months and a sales measure to the chart. I dragged FiscalYear from my date table into the filter pane and filtered by one FisCal year.
My chart displayed what I expected the months from April to March (my first month in the new financial year is April).
What would you like the chart t display?
Kind regards

RE: Month Order in charts and line diagrams
I have my start month set at 8 which has given me August as the Trust Month 1. I was expecting to see August to July in my charts but is giving me random months. It is not even in alphabetical order.
RE: Month Order in charts and line diagrams
Hi Shilpi,
You will have to change the Excel date table.
In the FisCalYear column change the formula:
="FY"&Dates!$C2+IF(MONTH(B2)>3,1,0)
to:
="FY"&Dates!$C2+IF(MONTH(B2)>7,1,0)
In the FisCalQ change the formula:
="FQ"&CHOOSE(Dates!$E2,4,4,4,1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3)
to:
="FQ"&CHOOSE(Dates!$E2,2,3,3,3,4,4,4,1,1,1,2,2)
In the FisCalM column change the formula:
="FM"&MONTH(EDATE(B2,9))
to:
="FM"&MONTH(EDATE(B2,5))
Kind regards
