Refreshing data sources
I have a data source already on my Power BI workspace that should update automatically. However, the power query is wrong and doesn't update these changes to the query don't sae refresh to refresh - what can I do to stop this?
RE: Refreshing data sources
Hi Georgia,
Thank you for the forum question.
I am not sure I fully understand the question.
"However, the power query is wrong and doesn't update these changes to the query don't sae refresh to refresh - what can I do to stop this?"
Have steps been created in the query editor, which are not working?
I will need more details please.
Kind regards

RE: Refreshing data sources
Hi Jens,
Apologies I was typing quickly!
When I put a dataflow into PowerBI service so that I can automate refresh's the data is not properly refreshing.
I have checked the power query and it says that some steps (including change type) are being done outside the workbook and are not folding. I have tried rearranging the query and editing the query so that it works.
After I have done this the refresh works and my data goes into my PowerBI report as it should. However, when it comes to the next scheduled refresh, Power Query has reverted to its original query (the one that doesn't work and doesn't fold) and the changes I make don't save.
I don't know how to solve this.
I hope this is more clear?
Best,
Georgia
RE: Refreshing data sources
Hi Georgia,
I unfortunately do not have a straight forward answer.
You have many limitations using dataflow and I do not know if this can be the reason for your refresh issue. The link below will take you through the dataflow limitations.
