Waterfall Visuals

Hi

When using a waterfall chart to show the movement from one month to the next, I am required to select both the start and end dates from the date slicer.

Is there a way I can get the visual to auto select the prior month as the starting point, when checking the current month in the date slicer? (i.e. when reviewing the movement in March 2020, can I get the visual to auto select 29 February 2020 as the start point).

Thanks,
Luca

RE: Waterfall Visuals

Hello Luca,

Thank you for your question. While you can calculate selected month plus previous month in a measure, the slicer will filter the visual and show only the selected month.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to set up the slicer to do this. The closest I could get was to drill the chart down to month level, then in the slicer, select a date from current month and previous month.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

RE: Waterfall Visuals

Hi Marius

Thank you for your reply.

Yeah, your suggestion is what I have currently got, but was hoping for a better solution.

Not to worry, thanks anyway!

RE: Waterfall Visuals

Hi Luca,

Hopefully in the next update, there will be something which does that. Luckily Power BI updates come thick and fast!

Happy self-isolating!
