Merging info from excel to MS Projects
Hi, the trainer we had mentioned that we would be able to merge the info i had already inputted into an excel Gantt project sheet into the MS Projects we now have but I am not sure how to go about this.
RE: Merging info from excel to MS Projects
Hi Amanda,
That's correct, it would be helpful to start with the import.
The steps from Microsoft will get you started
https://support.office.com/en-gb/article/import-excel-data-into-project-cb3fb91a-ad05-4506-b0af-8aa8b2247119
Once you've imported the data you should be able to apply the techniques you've learned during the Training course.
A copy and paste can sometimes work. Do keep in mind if you import from Excel it won't have the right relationships and you may have to make some of that again if you want Project to work correctly.
Frequently we'll come across the situation where users import the Tasks and recreate the links.
Do let us know if you need further help
