Database locking
Hi,
We have set up a database and are getting ready to insert/import the data. We discovered that when other users were using the database for queries, it was not possible to enter new data in the forms. The form in question links information from three different tables.
Is it possible to loosen the locking mechanism, so user can be in the queries while one person is inserting data into the form?

Hi Charlotte,
Thank you for the forum question.
You have few options to change how Access lock the data. Click File -> Options -> Client Settings and scroll down to Advanced.

You also have some options if you have VBA knowledge. You can use ADO (ActiveX Data Object) to set different lock types.

Access tip:Combo box for finding recordsYou can use a combo box in a form to look up a record. If you place the comb box in the Form header, by then selcting they a field type from the drop down loist, you will see the record for it |
