Verbatim Note Taking

Do you have helpful tips on verbatim note taking within a HR environment for example.

RE: Verbatim Note Taking

Hi Dorothy

Thank you for your question. Definitely agree with participants and the meeting leader in particular how much scope you have to check what is captured, read back notes to the meeting for confirmation etc.

If recording (using something like a Livescribe pen) is not OK then you may need to use a different notation system so you can capture the discussion more quickly.

Shorthand is one system, another is speedwriting. There are alternatives out there. One that I have come across is:

Speed Writing Skills Training Course: Speedwriting for Faster Note Taking, Writing and Dictation, an Alternative to Shorthand to Help You Take Notes. Paperback – 29 Feb 2012

I hope this helps - let me know if you have any other questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew

Instead of closing or savng all your files one by one, you can do this in one step by holding the SHIFT key whilst clicking on the FILE menu.

You will then see a Close All and Save All option in the menu
