Sort Project Plan By Date
One of the directors would prefer to see the project plan sorted by dates only instead of workstreams /departments as the project is currently sorted for other purposes. I have tried to do the sort by start date option, but it is not sorting the entire plan by the date. I believe it might only sort them within the particular indentations.
Is there a way to sort the plan out by date regardless of what department they belong to or whether they are indented?
I would need to send this as a regular report, without permanently changing the way the project plan is currently set up.
Many thanks

RE: Sort Project Plan By Date
Hi Birgitta
Thanks for your question.
Try this approach: From the Project menu choose Sort > Sort by.
Remove the tick from Keep outline structure (in the lower left corner of the dialogue box) which should then allow you to sort regardless of indent levels. If you have to produce this regularly you might want to create a view just for this sort.
Let me know if you need any further help. Kind regards,
Andrew

MS Project tip:Inserting Task Durations QuicklyWhen entering durations for your tasks simply use the single letters - m for min, h for hr, d for day, w for week, but mon for month. If default is set for days, you need only type the number, for example 3 for 3days, or 0.5 for half a day. |
