Linking many different projects

Would I be able to link many different projects together, and how would I be able to do that?

RE: Linking many different projects

Hi Michelle

The easiest way to link projected is to insert them first as Subprojects. I've writen out below the steps to view a program of subprojects projects.

Then tasks can be linked by cicking on a task from one project, pressing CTRL and clicking on the successor task in a different project.

You will see in the predecessors column the link to the other task with the format -

Filepath\filenname\task id

To insert and display subprojects

1. Start with a new blank project
2. Select Project, Subproject
3. Select the first Project and click Insert
Then repeat for the next project etc.
4. Press the + to expand each project.

Hope that helps to answer your question about linking.
If not please say a bit more about what how you want to link projects.

MS Project tip:

Compare Work and Duration

Duration is the timescale within which a task is done; Work is the specific time element used. For example, 3 days work in a duration of 2 weeks. To compare, add the Work field into the Entry table by right clicking a column heading to Add Field.
