Comparing project plans
Hello!
I have been sent an updated plan for one of the projects I am overseeing which in the orignal had 200 tasks. The new amended plan has 300.
Is there a simple way to compare two plans and see where the additions have come from?...Rather than me just searching manually for new tasks.
Thank you!
RE: Comparing project plans
Hi Siobhan
You could use the feature called Compare Projects.
Start by opening the project that contains the additional tasks.
Select Project, Compare Projects.
Choose the other project (containing 200 tasks)
An extra column indicates differences between the project
+ means additional tasks
- is for tasks only in the other project.
? indicates a different name in the other project.
Hope Compare Projects is on your version of Project 2010.
Regards
Doug

RE: Comparing project plans
Thanks Doug!
Have found that feature, however its only showing me resource differences rather than tasks.
Is there a way to specify tasks before initiating the comparison?
Thank you !
RE: Comparing project plans
I've just figured it out!
Change Task to Baseline and Resource None.
Thank you !!
