Send outlook email when opening Excel document
How do you automatically generate a personalised email to a particular address when an excel document is opened
RE: Send outlook email when opening Excel document
Hi Jessica
Thanks for getting in touch. Let's look at this in two parts, first the mailing. There's a couple of different ways you can do this. May I recommend you look at Ron DeBruin's excellent guides on the subject?

To have something automatically happen on opening a Workbook, you need to attach code to this action. In the Visual Basic Editor, double-click "ThisWorkbook" under the project file name. There's a drop-down menu above the code that reads "General". Change this to read "Workbook" and the second menu shoudl change to read "Open".
Any code you enter in this section will trigger automatically when the file is opened, providing macros are enabled.
Try them out and let me know if you have any problems.
Both of these topics are dealt with on our VBA Advanced course if you want to find out more.
Kind regards
