Microsoft Project 2010 timeline
Hello
I am currently doing a presentation and am using the timeline in it via copying and pasting it into word. That is going fine but what I was wondering is, is it possible to get the bars on the timline to display visually how much of the task has been completed? for instance by shading the bar 50% a differcnt colour to signify 50% of the task has been completed?
Thanks
Dan Maney
RE: Microsoft Project 2010 timeline
Hi Dan
This Timeline is used more as a broad summary and doesn't include % Completed.
You can copy views that include % complete into Word such as the Gantt view or Network Diagram as follows:
Select the rows to display
Click the home tab, Copy Picture (down arrow to right of Copy button)
Choose For Screen
Click OK then switch to Word
Paste the Gantt Chart into Word
A temporary work around is to write the % Complete value after the Task Name. But this would involve manually adjusting whenever the % complete changes.

MS Project tip:Formatting Bar TextTo display notes or resource initials on the Gantt chart bars, choose Format, Bar Styles and the Text tab. Select the position you want to show the text i.e. Top or Inside etc, then choose the field name you are looking for from the drop down arrow. Type the first letter of the name to get quickly to the top of the letter range. Click OK. |
