I have a 5 page worksheet and I need to link them together so that the 1st worksheet adds up the data when I input it into the other 4 worksheets, its a P&L document so the forumalas are in the latter 4 worksheets but I cannot get them all to add up in the first worksheet no matter what I do. I have been able to link worksheet 1 and 2 but not 3 - 5.
Can anyone help? Thanks,
RE: Excel
Hello Catherine,
Thank you for your question regarding linking worksheets.
Lets say the five worksheets you refer to are called worksheet1, worksheet2, worksheet3, worksheet4 and worksheet5. And you want cell A1 of worksheet1 to contain the total of the values in cell B1 of the other 4 worksheets.
In worksheet1 click into cell A1 (or wherever you want the answer to go) and type = then click worksheet2, cell B1, then type +. Then click worksheet3, cell B1, then type +. Then click worksheet4, cell B1, then type +. Then click worksheet5, cell B1, then press enter.
If done correctly you will get an answer and the formula should look something like this:
= worksheet2!B5 + worksheet3!B5 + worksheet4!B5 + worksheet5!B5
(No spaces are needed within the formula)
Hope this helps.
Kind regards
Cindy
