Share Workbook

Hi,

Is it possible to share workbooks and make changes to it by different users at the same time? How can I do it?

Thanks,
M

RE: Share Workbook

Hi Melinda

Thanks for getting in touch. Microsoft provide workbook sharing under the Review tab.

Go to Review > Share Workbook.

You can then check the box "Allow changes...". You may also want to have a look under the Advanced tab to determine other settings, such how long to retain change history and resolve conflicts.

You can then make use of the Track Changes button to review changes to the workbook.

However, this feature has been known to be buggy and result in odd outcomes so I would recommend testing the feature out on a dummy workbook to see how your team get on with it. In my experience corporate users have found it less frustrating to build a formula in a workbook that links to data in another workbook - so in other words everybody works on separate files and the "master" workbook pulls all the data into one place.

Experiment and see how you get on - if you require further advice please ask.

Kind regards
