Filtering by task custom field on resource usage.
I want to look at all projects filtered by a client name where the resources are over allocated.
I inserted numerous projects and their allocated resources into a master project.
I customised a field in the gantt chart of the individual projects and the master called ‘client name’ (Text 1) and I now want to view all projects which have overallocated resources filtered by this client name. I went into the master resource sheet and resource usage views and tried to insert this by selecting ‘customise field’ then pressing task (not resource) and selecting the field I wanted, client name (text 1) but when I press ok the field/column with the client name doesn’t appear.
How can I see which clients have projects where the resources are overallocated?
I am also having trouble getting the reports I need but this may be another question later… thanks!
RE: filtering by task custom field on resource usage.
Hi Emma
Thank you for your question. If the field you created was made on the task side of your plan (e.g. in the Gantt Chart view) it won't be available in a resource view.
As an alternative you could add the field you created to the main Gantt Chart view and filter there. Alternatively you could store client information in the Resource Group field as this is one of the few Resource fields available in task views.
Let me know how you get on and do drop me a line regarding the reporting problems you have run into.
Kind regards,
Andrew
