RE: EXCEL
Hello Christine,
Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft Excel Intermediate course with Best STL.
Thank you for your question regarding sorting data going across the set of data. Excel does not allow you to sort rows only columns.
So to achieve what you want open a new sheet then go to your data and select everything (CTRL+A) and copy. Then go to the new sheet if necessary select A1 and click the Paste drop-down and click the Transpose button. Now you will find that the countries are in a column which you can sort.
Do the sorting that you require then open a new sheet. Select all the data in the sheet where you have performed the country sort and copy. Then go to the new sheet and click the Paste drop-down and click the Transpose button. The data will be in the original position as before you started but the countries are now sorted as required.
Next tidy up by deleting the sheets you no longer require.
This exercise can of course be done on one sheet but you still have to tidy up afterward removing unnecessary data.
This is a long workaround and may suggest that your data could be arranged differently to avoid this type of issue.
I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.
If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?
Have a great day.
Regards,
Rodney
