RE: Excel
Hello Carmen,
Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft Excel Introduction course with Best STL.
Thank you for your question regarding the SUM function.
Let's begin with the Syntax of the function which is as follows:
=SUM(Number1,Number2,Number3,.......)
If number1 was 20, number2 was 30, number3 was 10 then the SUM function adds these three numbers together giving you an answer of 60.
The SUM function also works with a range of cells:
=SUM(A12:A50)
The above example will add all the values in the cells from A12 to A50. So, if you have a column of numbers (called a range), click the empty cell below this range and press = then type SUM(
Then select the range and press enter.
You can also use the AutoSum button (found on the Home or Formulas ribbons) which will do the range selection for you. Just make sure that when using AutoSum that it does select the correct range.
Give this a try!
I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.
If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?
Have a great day.
Regards,
Rodney
