Importing data from excel

If I import data from a spreadsheet that has calculated values do I need to convert the data to value only(ie: cut - paste special - value only) in excel prior to importation or will access perform that task? And does this equally apply if the calculated data comes from separate worksheets, which won't all necessarily be imported to access.

Thanks

RE: Importing data from excel

Thank you for you question Steve. In short yes to both. Access when you use the import function Access will treat the result of the formula in the source Worksheet as the data value for the target table without your intervention.

Access tip:

Related tables

When you have related tables such as Customers and their Orders, the Customer table is the Primary table.

Open the Customers table in datasheet view and go to the Home Tab and Records group. Click on the More option and choose Subdatasheet and then click on Subdatasheet again. Now choose the related table (Orders) and click ok.

Now you can click the + symbol by each company to show the related orders.
