Copy/Paste
When copying & pasting a row of data from one spreadsheet to another, how do I ensure that the format of the cells remains exactly the same (size of writing & size of cells)?
RE: Copy/Paste
Hello Elise,
After you copy a range, use the paste Special option, by right clicking where the copied data should go, select Paste Special. There should be options to paste the column width/formatting. Try some of these options to see which gives the best. In Later versions, 2007 and 2010 there is a direct option for pasting all formatting.
I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

RE: Copy/Paste
Sorry Mark, I'm still stuck.
I have tried selecting a variety of options from the Paste Special selection & none are working.
I have tried "Columns", "Formats", both together too (which doesn't actually paste anything across?)
Please help!
RE: Copy/Paste
Hello Elise,
If you copy a range, move to new sheet and do a regular paste (control+V), this pastes the data and format, you will see a smart tag appear beside the pasted range. Click this and select the option to Keep Column Widths.
