The first thing to check is the Relationships window and ensure the relationships have been setup correctly.

The second thing is to check the data types of the fields in question and check where the data is coming from to load the combo boxes. Ensure the data types are correctly setup.

The sound you are hearing can mean that there is something missing.

If you wanted to, you could send me the database, with an explanation of which form and which field causes the 'Ding sound'. I can then have a quick look to see if I can identify the problem.
