Conditional formatting

In conditional formatting is there a way of making the icons closer to the data in the cell so it easier on the eye - without left aligning the cells?

Sorry - resolved I clicked on the wrong button

RE: conditional formatting

Hi Zoe, thanks for your query. I'm afraid you are stuck with the position of icons generated by conditional formatting - they are baked into the application and there is no way to really manipulate them.

Hope this helps,

Anthony

RE: conditional formatting

Hi Zoe, there is work around to position icons to the right of data. But have to first copy data to adjacent column to right then edit the conditional formatting rule ticking 'Show Icon only'. Finally clear the conditional formatting for the original data. If the figures are likely to change could paste link into the adjacent column. Complicated but as Anthony said those icons are stuck unless you show icons only.

Excel tip:

Creating custom lists

In Excel if you type in January in a cell, you can then copy this cell to replicate Febraury, MArch, April etc.

This list has come from Tools- options and Custom lists.

Therefore to save time and create your own list you can click on New (in Tools and custom list tab) and type out the lsit that you want copied quickly.

All you have to do is then type in the 1st word and you will be able to copy the rest of the list quickly.
