How do you format dates that are in text format? For example, I download data, the date column shows 1/3/2009 (which might stand for January 3, 1009) but show up as a text string. How do I change to date format?

RE: Database

Hello Soo

Without seeing a sample of the data, but if data is imported in as text when it should be in date format, you can simply change the format to date from the format cells dialog. However, as I said without seeing the original data this is the best answer I can give.

RE: Database

Hi,

Thank you for your question.

The quickest way to change text to date format:

- right click the cell with the date
- Select Format Cells
- On the Number tab, within the category list select Date
- From the options presented on the right-hand side select the correct date format.
