Task Type - default

When setting the Task Type in the Task Form, is it possible to apply the type to multiple tasks as the same time, or do you have to do it individually for each task? Can you set the default to type to be 'Fixed Duration' rather than 'Fixed Unit'?
Thanks

RE: Task Type - default

Hello Kellie,

Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft Porject Introduction course with Best STL.

Thank you for your question regarding setting the Task Type in Project.

If you want to apply the task type change to multiple tasks at the same time you must first select all the tasks in the Entry Table of the Gantt Chart view, then click the Information button on the Standard toolbar. Here you must select the Advanced tab and make the change in the Task Type drop-down. You are not able to do this from the Task Form.

If you wish to make Fixed Duration your default task type then click Tools > Options > Schedule tab where you can set a default task type. You may also wish to deselect the Effort Driven option for all new tasks.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.

MS Project tip:

Autofit column width – Project (all versions)

At the top of the columns where each column name is located (Task Name, Duration, etc.), hover over the vertical column line which you want to move.

A short bold vertical line will appear, with horizontal arrows pointing left and right.

Left click and hold this icon and it will permit you to grab the column line, allowing you to move it left or right to your desired location.
