Word table of contents

I cannot make some of my headings appear on the table of contents even when I press F9 to update

RE: Word table of contents

Hi Monique

Thank you for your question.

Just a couple of things to eliminate before digging any further into a solution...

- Do the headings that are not appearing in the Table of Contents have a Heading Style format?

- Have you tried right-clicking the Table of Contents, select Update Field and then Update Entire Table?

If you can let me know the outcome of these two things, we can then delve further into the issue if necessary.

Word tip:

Selecting objects from behind text

If you are working with an image in Word that you have chosen to send behind the document text, it can be difficult to actually select the image once it is positioned behind text.

To get around this you can click the 'Select Objects' (white arrow) button on the Drawing toolbar. This should make it easier to select the image.

Once you have finished manipulating the image, click on the 'Select Objects' button again (or press the Esc key) to be able to work with text in the document again.
