Advance Filtering

After attending the intermediate Excel 3 course yesterday - can you remind me of the logic for advance filtering, I think i type in the new box criteria range then the logic is AND is this correct.

Thank you for your question regarding Advanced filtering.

As you may have done on the course, the advanced filtering in Excel gives you more possibilities of creating complex multi criteria filtering. You are correct in thinking it gives you AND logic, but also OR logic too. So you can create a filter that looks for e.g. people who are over 50 AND live in a big house AND spend more than 100 pounds OR live in a small house!

Once set up, its easy to just type these arguments in the boxes (cells).

1) Go to the bottom of the column of data.

2) Shortcut click in the column then Ctrl + down arrow

3) Use Alt + = for Autosum and press the enter key to complete.
