Two calendars for one resource

Hello!

Is it possible (way) to use two or more working calendars (for example night shift and standart) for one person in different periods (for different tasks) so that working time has been filled correctly inside period, without overallocations and calendar's conflicts?

If we use different calendars in different tasks and one resource assigned for them we get a calendar's conflict.

May be need to use other way?

Thank you!

Igor

RE: Two calendars for one resource

Hi Igors,

Thank you for your question.

When you go into the Task Information screen you can change the calendar on the advanced tab for that particular task.

So if a Resource has its own calendar you can set the working time for that resource.

However for certain tasks the resource may be working shift patterns and another calendar is needed such as the night shift.

Go the task information for the particular task and select the Advanced tab. Then select Night Shift from the Calendar option and tick the 'Scheduling ignores the resources calendar'.

I hope this answers your question.

Regards

Simon

MS Project tip:

Using the Quick Access Toolbar in Project 2010

The Quick Access Toolbar is included in virtually every Office product, including Project 2010 as well as Outlook 2010, Word 2010, Excel 2010, and PowerPoint 2010.

You will find the Quick Access Toolbar in the top-left side of the window. To begin, click the Customize button (it's the little black arrow at the end of the toolbar).

Simply click the commands you want to include.

Virtually any command can be added to the Quick Access Toolbar. Click the More Commands option and a new window will open from where you can browse the commands including those not on the ribbon.
