Name Conflict

When I try to copy one sheet into another workbook a box comes up saying the 'name conflict dialogue box, name already exists on the destination worksheet'. This is especially irritating as this pops up and you have to click yes 100+. I was just wondering if there is any way of the computer ignoring this error?

RE: Name Conflict

Hi Emma, thanks for your query. In the Formulas tab of your worksheet, choose the Name manager. Select the name that is cited by the error dialogue box and delete it out. You may have to do this for more than one named range. When you copy it across that should solve the problem.

Hope this helps,

Anthony

Excel tip:

Hiding a worksheet in Excel

Want to circulate an Excel workbook file but keep certain worksheets hidden from your colleagues' view?

You can do so by bringing up the sheet you wish to hide on your screen; then going to Format - Sheet - Hide.

It will not be immediately obvious that a sheet is hidden from view unless perhaps the sheet are still labelled Sheet 1, Sheet 2 etc.

To display the sheet again, you can go to Format - Sheet - Unhide on any of the other sheets in the workbook. A dialogue box will appear, allowing you to select the hidden sheet/s. Click OK to make the sheet/s reappear again.
