Cascading combo boxes

Hello there,

I've used the standard microsoft instructions to use the Northwind database and created two syncrhonised combo boxes.

However, my problem is that I can't find any further information on how to link a third combo box.

The principle I'm working from is:

combo box one - staff contact: this filters the available orgs in combo 2.

combo box two - organisation: this filters contact details specific to the organisation selected.

combo box three - contact details.

I've worked out combo one and two. Any advice on the third? A step by step process would be great.

RE: Cascading combo boxes

Hello Ruth

Thanks for your post and what you are trying to do. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, we needed to run this by a specific team member.

We are confident that a solution can be reached however it is beyond the scope of this forum.

In these instances we ask for you to send us your working files which we can review and notify you of the scope of work to reach a solution. My colleague Stephen estimates that we will need 1-2 hours work on VBA.

I shall email you so if you are interested at discussing further please contact me directly.

kind regards

Jacob

Access tip:

Splittng a database

Split your database into two (at least).

Keep all of your code, forms, reports, etc. in one 'code' database and all of your tables in another 'data' database which is then linked to the 'code' database.

This makes modifications, updates and back-ups that much easier and allows you to work on a new version of your 'code' database without affecting existing users. It also makes it easier should you wish to convert a single user databases into a multi-user networked version.
