Getting a satistical range
Is there a way to find a range (lowest and highest numbers in a group) when the cells are not adjacent? I've tried working with a formula using RANGE, but it keeps coming up with #VALUE.
Can it be done?
Cheers,
Dee
RE: Getting a satistical range
Hi Dee,
Thank you for your question regarding highest & lowest numbers in a range of data that are non-adjacent.
The functions you would be looking to use would be the 'Min' or 'Max' function.
...so, for example, if you have data in the range A1:A10 and another set of data in the range D1:D10 and now from within these two ranges you want to find the highest value, the formula you would need to create would look something like:
=max(A1:A10,D1:D10) this would present the highest value.
Replace the 'Max' function with 'Min' to determine the lowest value.
I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.
If you require any further assistance, please reply to this post.
Have a lovely weekend.
