Microsoft Excel
I am using Excel 2007 but I have received a spreadsheet compiled in version 2003 (.xls). When I open the spreadsheet, the values calculated using formulas are unreadable. How can I overcome this please?
RE: Microsoft Excel
Hi Julie thanks for your query. What do you mean by unreadable? Are the values not there, or replaced with a series of hash symbols, or have the columns been stripped out? Opening a 2003 file in 2007 shouldn't produce this sort of trouble, so you might be looking at a corrupt file. You might want to get the originator to send the file again.

RE: Microsoft Excel
Hi Anthony,
Yes, the formulas are showing value and therefore the summary sheet is showing #Name. The sent file is .xls extension....

RE: Microsoft Excel
Hi Julie. Difficult to advise on this without seeing the source spreadsheet, but it could be you have some 3-D formulae linking out to other spreadsheets which have not been sent to you. Look out for anything resembling a filepath in your formulas, that indicates you're missing a source spreadsheet.
