Exporting to Excel

How can I export Project data to Excel, without losing the task levels?

RE: Exporting to Excel

Hi Feisal

Probably the most reliable way to get data from Project to Excel is to use the export wizard. It involves a few steps - first from the file menu in Project choose save as...
then in the save as type dialogue box choose Excel Workbook and name your file.

The export wizard then begins, click Next.

You can either use the built in template or select your own data. Choose the project template to start with to see what Project does.

A new Excel file will be created using the entry table fields, correctly labelled.

Let us know if you need further information.

Kind regards,

Andrew

MS Project tip:

Compare Work and Duration

Duration is the timescale within which a task is done; Work is the specific time element used. For example, 3 days work in a duration of 2 weeks. To compare, add the Work field into the Entry table by right clicking a column heading to Add Field.
