Combo box on sub form

I have created a sub-form with a combo box of hobbies and interests. However when I select a hobby from the list and then move to the next record, when I go back to the original record the hobby I selected is no longer showing although when I look at the Table related to the form, the data is there.

Any help with this will be very much appreciated.

RE: Combo box on sub form

Hi Heather

Thanks for your question

Could you clarify the following please

1. Is the Combo Box on the main form or the subform?
2. When you move records are you moving inj the sub form or the main form?

Thanks

Stephen

RE: Combo box on sub form

Hi Stephen, Apologies for the delay in coming back to you - went home on Weds morning with some horrible flu like bug and have just come back to work today.

To answer your question, the combo box is on the sub form but when I move between records I am doing so on the main form. Really puzzled by this one as I have used the wizard to set up a couple of sub-forms before this one, and all has been fine.

Thanks for all your help with this.

Regards
Heather

RE: Combo box on sub form

Hi Heather

Thanks for the information, ans please let me apologise for the long delay in getting back to you.

I think the problem may be that the wizard building the combo boxes may not be up to the job in this case. To help I need to see the SQL that controils them.

If you open the form in design view and open the properties window for one of the combo boxes. You can then copy and paste the SQL statement in the Row Source Property into a text file.

If you email that to me at SW@stl-training.co.uk I will try to provide assistance

Regards

Stephen

Hi Stephen

I tinkered around with the properties in between my last email to you and your reply and somehow the the problem seems to have righted itself but not sure which of my changes did the trick.

Thanks for your help and will send you the code if it happens again.

Regards
Heather
