Sequence of sorting with more than 3 criteria...

RE: Sorting

Hello Joanne

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

OK, so here's what you need to do. Say you are sorting by 4 columns:

1. First, select a cell in the database.
2. Go to Data-Sort.
3. In the first Sort by box, select the column that you wish to sort by last (after all the others). Click OK.
4. Go to Data-Sort again.
5. In the Sort by and Then by boxes, select the other three columns you want to sort by, starting with the most important first. Click OK.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards
Amanda

Excel tip:

Colouring cells containing formulas

Cells in a worksheet can contain values or they can contain formulas. You may wish to identify all the cells in your worksheet that contain formulas by colouring those cells.

Follow these steps:
1. Choose Edit > Go To menu, or press either F5 or Ctrl+G. Excel displays the Go To dialog box.
2. Click Special. Excel displays the Go To Special dialog box.
3. Select the Formulas radio button option.
4. Select OK.

At this point, every formula cell in the worksheet is selected, and those cells can be coloured formatted as desired.
