Hi Emma, thanks for your query. First, to clarify, are you trying to send an Excel 2007 spreadsheet to someone running Excel 2003 or earlier? You can ensure your spreadsheet is backwards compatible by clicking the Office button and then Save As and choose the Excel 97-2003 Spreadsheet option. Then users running earlier versions of Excel will be able to open your spreadsheet.
There is also a compatibility pack which users running earlier versions of Excel can download from Microsoft, which will allow them to open .xlsx spreadsheets.
