How do I do conditional formatting?
RE: Excel advanced
Hello Hayley
Thank you for your question.
To apply conditional formatting to cells in your spreadsheet:
1. Select the cells you would like to apply the formatting to.
2. Go to Format > Conditional Formatting.
3. Under Condition 1, select Cell Value is or Formula is, depending on whether you are asking Excel to look at the value in each of the cells you have selected; or if you need to enter a formula to have Excel evaluate the amount in each cell as part of a formula.
4. Set the rest of your condition using the dropdown boxes/windows available.
5. Click the Format button to select the formatting you'd like Excel to apply if it finds that the condition you have specified has been met.
6. If you want to add another condition, click the Add button. You can set up to 3 conditions for the same range of cells.
7. Click OK when finished.
I hope this helps.
Amanda
Kind regards
Amanda

Excel tip:Naming and Using ConstantsConstants make calculations easier so worksheets are more easily understood. Constant values also need to be given relevant and memorably names. It is also easier to change the value of a constant. |
