Mulitple projects

What is the best way to deal with multiple projects?

RE: mulitple projects

Hi Birgitta

You can create a new blank project then insert as many project files as you like into it. Just go the Insert menu and choose Project... From here select the project file you would like to insert.

You can make links between tasks from different project files by clicking and dragging between the task bars in the Gantt chart. By default Project creates a Finish to Start relationship but you can double click in the dependency link and change this to one of the other relationship types if you prefer.

Hope this helps - let us know if you need further information.

Kind regards,

Andrew

MS Project tip:

Keep constraining dates to a minimum

As far as possible avoid fixing the dates of your tasks. For example try to steer of clear dragging task bars in the Gantt chart to move them on the timeline or entering dates directly into the Start / Finish fields.

Date constraints such as these limit Microsoft Project's ability to automatically adjust your project whenever you add, remove or modify the duration of your tasks. Instead use the logic in your task dependencies that link your tasks to enable Project to calculate the start and finish dates for you.
