Filtering pictures
When I filter information from a column, and there are multiple pictures in other columns, the pictures collect on top of each other rather than leaving the one picture on the row with filtered information.
How do I stop this happening?
RE: filtering pictures
Hi Emily. This is a consequence of Excel inserting pictures as objects that float above the worksheet rather than inside the cells themselves. When the structure of the worksheet is reordered after the application of a filter, the images don't stay attached to the relevant cells, and so end up in a mess above the worksheet. Excel much prefers numerical and/or string data than pictures, I'm afraid. Have you considered inserting a hyperlink in each cell to offline copies of the images, rather than inserting the images themselves?
If you rebuilt the worksheet in Word and inserted the images as objects in a table, this might also give you better sorting and filtering capabilities.
Hope this helps,
Anthony

Excel tip:Closing all your workbooks QuicklyHold the SHIFT key down and using the mouse click on the file menu, it will now now CLOSE ALL rather than close. This closes all workbooks down but still leaves the application open. |
