Formulas

Hi Stephen

wondered if you could help me i am currently using
=COUNTIF('Apr Activity'!$C$7:$AA$65536,"Admin")

formula to count and area of cells. however i now need to count those cell ONLY IF my first row "accountable" = ASR..

i think it would be easyier if i sent you a copy of what i am trying to do but can attach a file for some reason...

so imagine i have four small tables side by side this represents the weeks in the month.

each table has 5 colums in

Accountable /Date/Clien/action/Qualifying information & Next steps.

so i am telling my formula to read the WHOLE month and if its says admin count them up and give me a number. i now want the same but only if my first row of each table Accountable says ASR.. but i stil only want one figure i dont want 4 for each month..

Thanks

RE: Formulas

Hi Rachel

Thanks for the file which I have now had a chance to study. I have been training on site for the last 2 days and have had no internet access

Can you clarify the following for me.

1. Do you require each row in your target table to count how many rows of that action there are here accountable = asr? So row 1 would how many rows have admin in the action column and asr in the accountable column and so on.

2. If you are using countif, then why does the summation row at the bottom have a currency format?

Thanks

Stephen

RE: Formulas

Hi Stphen

No problems thanks for getting back to me

If you look at the Activity summary sheet at the top table and click in cell B3 this will give you the formual that i currently using and counts all "actions" for all the weeks in one month it doesnt matter who is "accountable"

However i am trying to get the bottom table to only count "Actions" if the "Acccountable" states "ASR" in the Activity sheets

the currancey is picked up for else where. thats a monthly target we need to achive... - just leave that there.

Does this clarify?

Thanks again
