Can I colour code to easily highlight tasks for multiple task managers?

RE: Project

Hi Alyson

Thank you for your question. One approach might be to set a flag for a particular task.

To do this insert a column into the Gantt chart view and set it to one of the spare Flag fields (eg Flag 1). Then from the Format menu choose Format Bar Styles and create a new style at the bottom of the list has the formatting you would like to apply just for this resource. In the "Show for" section set it to apply for Flag 1.

Now when you set Flag 1 to Yes for your tasks you will find the associated bar picks up the formatting from the style.

I hope this helps - do let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew

MS Project tip:

Set default task type - Project 2010

a. In Project, click on the File tab
b. Select Options from left hand side
c. Click on Schedule to set the scheduling options
d. Set the Default Task type box to your chosen option
i. Generally if you plan/estimate your projects using durations you should use fixed duration, and untick the box New tasks are effort driven, if you plan/estimate with person hours use fixed work, or for plans estimated with the proportion of resources time use fixed units, and untick the box New tasks are effort driven)
e. Click OK to apply your changes
