How do you make the white space around a chart smaller?

RE: Charts

Hello Peter

Thank you for your question.

It's more a case of making the plot area (area containing the chart only) bigger, rather than reducing the amount of white space that I think will help in this instance.

If you click on the chart to select it, the Chart toolbar should automatically appear (if not go to View-Toolbars-Chart), and select Plot Area from the dropdown list on the toolbar.

This should select the area containing the chart only, then resize this to make it bigger.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards
Amanda

Excel tip:

##### displaying in Excel

When you get a series of hash symbols (####) appearing in some of your cells in a spreadsheet, this can make you think that you've make some kind of mistake.

This is a common misconception - what this actually means is that the cell is not wide enough to fully display the content of the cell.

All you need to do to see what is actually in the cell is to widen the column that the cell is in.
