Importing Data As Web Query

What would be the best way to manipulate data imported as a web query, where the table imported is not constant and a mixture of text and numbers (e.g Cinema Times in the format below)

RE: Importing Data As Web Query

Hello Ben

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

I'm assuming you're asking this because the data does not separate out into more than one column, i.e. the day and times end up in the same cell?

If this happens you can use the Text to Columns feature to separate data into more than one column.

Please let me know if this is what you'd like to be able to do; then I can explain further how this would work.

Kind regards
Amanda

RE: Importing Data As Web Query

Dear Ben

Thank you for attending Excel Advanced course!! I hope you enjoyed the course and benefited from it.

I remember you asking me this question during the training. If I understand correctly you want to know if you refresh the data that has been imported as a web query and eth data keeps on changing how will it affect the current cells i.e. will it overwrite the current cells, etc..

Please refer to the following link that will provide you with more information and advanced settings that you can apply once your web query has been imported into Excel:

If this doesn't answer your question then it may be that VBA can answer your question. Please note that we delver Excel VBA two day training. Please find the following link to view the course content and the schedule of the forthcoming courses for Excel VBA:

I hope this has answered your query.

If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please post it as a new question and we should be able to provide you the solution for it!!

Kindest Regards

Change the Default Width of All Columns in Excel 2010

If you want to change the width of the columns in your Excel 2010 spreadsheet, making them either larger or smaller, here's how:

In the Cells group on the Home tab, click Format.

Hover over the section called Cell Size and a drop down list will appear, select Default Width from this list.

In the Standard Width dialog box, enter the size you want to set as the default width and click OK.
