Access forms/primary numbers

I want to delete an entry from my database. Previously I did this through the forms, however I now get the message coming up that I cannot delete a primary number. What has caused this to happen and how can I rectify it.

RE: access forms/primary numbers

Hi Joanna

From the detail that you provided, I can guess that you cannot delete the record because the record that you are trying to delete is linked to another record within the database, within the settings there are options where you can select to cascade delete, I would advise that you check these settings so that you may be able to delete records.

Hope this helps
David

Access tip:

Create An Inaccessible Field On A Form

There is sometimes a need to make a field in a form look like a normal field but be completely inaccessible to the user. To do this:

In the Field's Properties
Set the ENABLED property to No
Set the LOCKED property to Yes

The field will not grey out, but the user will not be able to do anything with it.
