Linking 2 cells with data
I am trying to link 2 adjoining cells complete with data. I have tried via format cells > alignment but it is not working. Can anyone help ?
RE: Linking 2 cells with data
Hi Gurmit
What you would need to do is merge the two cells together, however, if you do this when both cells have data in them then not all the data is kept.
If you cut and paste the information from the second cell into the first cell, then select both cells and click on the merge button on the formatting toolbar (it is a white square with an 'a' and arrow pointing in either direction on it), this should allow you to merge (join) these two cells together and not lose any data in the process.

RE: Linking 2 cells with data
Thanks Amanda,, however I cannot seem to find the A symbol with the 2 arrows. Can you tell me how pls ?
RE: Linking 2 cells with data
Hi Gurmit
The button is on the formatting toolbar - this is the toolbar that has the font, font size, bold, italics etc on it. If you can't find the button, you can also select the cells you wish to merge, then go to Format-Cells-Alignment, then check the Merge cells option near the bottom of the dialogue box and click OK.
Let me know if either of these things don't work for you.
